From developing and implementing a Boston traffic reporting system... to exploring and photographing West Coast scenic highways... Judi's career path involves roadways... cameras... and microphones.
Radio, television and public speaking veteran Judi Paparelli is an entrepreneur known for her originality, personality and elegant delivery.
Before becoming a nationally syndicated radio show host, the New York native hosted talk shows in Laconia, New Hampshire; Charleston, South Carolina; Atlanta, Georgia and Boston, Massachusetts. While in South Carolina, she was chosen as Charleston's
"Young Career Woman."
In Boston, Judi's insightful wit made her a popular traffic reporter,
morning radio sidekick and
News and Entertainment Director.
A media pioneer, Judi developed TRAFFIC WATCH, a traffic reporting system
broadcast jointly by
Boston's WBZ-TV and KISS 108 Radio.
Her communication system incorporated graphics, live cameras and, at the time, ground-breaking traffic construction forecasting -- a technique immediately recognized as so helpful to commuters, that it is now regularly used across the country.
For her efforts and innovation in behalf of the City of Boston, Judi was awarded a special honor by then-Boston Mayor Raymond Flynn.
Governor William Weld and the U.S. Department of Transportation also recognized her project for its success in bringing together local, state and national transportation and law enforcement officials, in order to facilitate effective communication.
While broadcasting in Boston, Judi was pursued by Talk America Radio Network to create her own national show, and "Judiworld: A Global Radio Adventure" was born.
Judi's hosting style, her direct-yet-respectful delivery and ability to connect with listeners from all walks of life have been described as "controversy with class."
In addition to her renowned radio career, Judi is known for her live event coverage.
She was chosen to carry the
Olympic Torch for the City of Boston;
sailed the Tall Ships; provided live-at-sea coverage during the
U.S.S. Constitution "Old Ironsides"
200th Birthday Sail and regularly covered
the Boston Marathon.
Judi traveled to Saudi Arabia with a delegation of eight radio talk show hosts chosen from across the United States, and filed extensive reports while in the enigmatic kingdom.
Reporting live from Republican and Democratic conventions, primaries, presidential campaigns and inaugurations, she utilized her original "Audio Diaries," which invite listeners inside whatever world Judi covers.
As a staff writer and copywriter, Judi has written and voiced scores of successful radio and television commercials, and has developed advertising proposals for clients and sponsors around the world.
For many years, Judi produced and co-hosted "Hollywood Plus: The Radio Show" with author and Hollywood Storyteller, the late, great Stephen Schochet.
